Message Truth: Prayer is relational communication with God, more specific, prayer is earthly permission for heavenly interference.
Why Do Christians Not Pray?
1.Pride – It overestimates the power of self.
2.Unbelief – It Underestimate the power of God.
3.Ignorance – It overestimates the difficulty of talking to God.
4.Time – It underestimates the value of being with God.
5.Sin – It Underestimates the destructive power of sin.
- Sin is a cancer on the soul. The goal is not just “getting into” heaven. Its like saying the goal of marriage is the sex or money and not relationship with your spouse.
- Sin fascinates the assassinates.
- God blesses my life within the limits I place on God by my sin.
Biblical Pattern for Prayer
- Look to God (2 Chron. 20:3)
- Remember who God is and what He has done (2 Chron. 20:6-7)
- Recall God’s Promises (2 Chron. 20:8-9)
- Tell God what’s going on. (2 Chron. 20:10-11)
- Admit your powerless (humility) (2 Chron. 20:12)
- Listen to the voice of God. (2 Chron. 20:15)
- Go meet the enemy. (2 Chron. 20:16-17)
