Message Text: Romans 12:1-2
Lie#1 –Look at how well ____ is doing. You must keep up with her in order to be a successful mom.
Lie#2 – I am in control and able to make sure that my children stay safe and are “ok”.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Lie #3-No One Understands What I’m Going Through
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it” (I Corinthians 12:13)
Lie#4– My children’s salvation is dependent on how well I do as their mother. So don’t mess up!
Step#1- Daily Surrender– Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
- Spirit died immediately – born again immediately.
- Soul died daily– soul grows daily.
- Body died ultimately – new body ultimately.
Step#2-Say “No” to The World – 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world,
Step #3-Say “Yes” to Truth – but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Step#4-Enjoy God Work– Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1
