Experiencing God’s Power

Experiencing God’s Power

“Life at Its Best”

“When we are born, we look life our parents, when we die we look like our choices.” Crawford Lorettes

In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. For John baptized with[a] water, but in a few days you will be baptized with[b] the Holy Spirit.” Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:1-8

  • Did God create the world for life at its Best?
  • Is the world living life at its best as God designed?
  • Are you living life at it’s best as God designed?
  • Why is it that we have so much information, but we can’t overcome the sin in our lives?

Jesus knew they needed a power greater than themselves: ___________________________ .

How do I love by this power and have life at its best?

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.” Romans 8:28-29

Principle: Factories make products but only life produces life.

12 Brothers and sisters, we have a duty. Our duty is not to live under the power of sin. 13 If you live under the power of sin, you will die. But by the Spirit’s power you can put to death the sins you commit. Then you will live.” Romans 8:12-13

Truth: We were born for transformation- we were born to experience Gods power so that our lives tell the truth of what we believe about Christ. We are not just adding Jesus to our already crowded lives.

1.Repent– your thinking is changed about rebellion against God’s good design, therefore your behavior is changed.

2.Yield – Yielding means I acknowledge God’s sovereign authority in my life. We are either pleasing self, people or God.

3.Believe– that Gods Spirit can transform you. (emotions make great passengers but horrible drivers)
