The Five “I will’s” Ascensions of Satan
“How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart, “I will ascend to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of Mount Zaphon. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the realm of the dead, to the depths of the pit. Isaiah 12:12-15
- “I will ascend” He wanted a high position – God like status (v.13)
- “My throne” – He wanted to be his own authority (v.13)
- “I will sit enthroned” He wanted to be idolized (v.13)
- “I will ascend above the tops of the clouds” He wanted Gods glory (v.14)
- “I will make myself like the most high” I want to tell people what to do (v.14)
Results of Pride:
1.God opposes you (James 4:6)
2.Others have disdain for you.
3.You hinder your prayer life
3.You limit your Opportunities
4.Loneliness
The Five Descensions of Jesus the King (Philippians 2:5-11)
1.Descended down out of Heaven, Who, being in very nature[ God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
2.Descended to serve not rule “Rather he made himself nothing”
3.Descended to serve as man not King on earth “and being found in the appearance as man, he humbled himself”
4.Descended to die for something he did not deserve. “become obedient unto death”
5.Descended to die the most humiliating death “even the death on a cross”
Results of Humility:
1.God gives you his favor (blessings)
2.You are walking in Truth and light
3.Others Respect you and like you
4.You will have more opportunities and blessings
